Regimen #1: 1. Wash your face daily and nightly with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser 2. Use any witch hazel as a toner after washing your face. 3. Moisturize daily and nightly with Cetaphil Moisturizing lotion. Regimen #2: 1. Wash thoroughly with Dove's White Beauty Bar every morning and night. 2. Exfoliate with a gentle exfoliating face wash only 1-2 times per week. My favorite is Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash (around ). Also, L'Oreal Go 360 Clean (around ). 3. Use a good toner for your face. The one I'm using is by Sei Bella Clarifying Toner (Around ). It is from an online company called Melaleuca that my friend signed me up for. I will list the ingredients below if you'd like to find a similar one. I know this has peptides in it which supposedly fights signs of aging as well. 4. Use a good daily face moisturizer, preferably one with SPF30 or higher. In my experience Aveeno has some good, light ones. I'm using Smart Essentials Daily Nourishing Moisturizer SPF30 (around ). 5. Optional: For occasions when you know you need to look your perkiest you can use an overnight under eye cream. My favorite is Khiel's Line Reducing Eye-Brightening Cream (around ). We always look forward to summer. Summer always spells fun and countless activities under the sun. Summer is always full of beach activities, theme park escapades and a lot of frolicking in the sun. With all these activities, summer also spells sunburn. When there is excessive exposure to ultra-violet light, sunburn results. However even during cloudy days, you still get sunburn. The clouds do not shield us from the harmful ultra-violet light. If you love the sun, try to love your skin as well. It is essential to have a good skin care regimen; especially for people who are almost always exposed to the sun.

Probably almost everyone has experienced sunburn at least once in their lifetime. Sunburn is common and painful. However, this can be avoided with proper skin care and lesser exposure to the sun. Sunburn rarely brings complications, or any life threatening medical emergency, which requires a visit to the doctor. However, if there is severe pain or extensive blistering, a quick visit to the doctor may be beneficial. Blistering indicates second-degree burn. Your doctor can provide you better skin care treatment to alleviate the pain. The worst sunburn pain is often experienced between six and forty-eight hours after exposure to the sun. On the other hand, skin peeling of the injured layers often occurs between three and ten days after the burn. Furthermore, although this is rare, some people with sunburn may experience vision difficulty. If such is the case, an appointment with a physician may be deemed necessary.

Sunburn can be avoided by a minimized exposure to the sun. When exposure cannot be avoided, always provide yourself with good skin care products. These will protect your skin while being exposed to the sun. Arm yourself with good skin care routine before going out and exposing yourself to the ultra-violet light. Never leave the house without a good sunscreen protection. A good sunscreen should have an SPF or sun protection factor of 30 or greater and should be applied approximately 30 minutes before sun exposure. You can find these sunscreen products in the skin care section of your favorite stores. Wearing a wide brim hat will also protect you from the harmful rays of the sun. Studies show that dark colored fabrics offer more UV resistance than light colored fabrics. Today, there are specialty stores that already provide sun-protective clothing. They provide people better skin care by offering special types of fabrics in their product lines. However, these are rather expensive and are often beyond most average people's reach.

There are some home care remedies available to provide better skin care for people suffering from sunburn. A cool bath or cool compress may be beneficial using one cup of Aveeno to a tub full of water. Alternatively, you can also use one- half cup of ordinary baking soda into a tub full of water. Using lubricants such as Vaseline can also provide skin care. However, this type of lubricant retains heat and therefore should not be used during the first day of sunburn. Some people use benzocaine to relieve pain. However, this can cause skin irritation and may lengthen the course of healing. To ease the pain caused by sunburn, aspirin may be taken.

Finally, love your skin because this is your best protection against most external elements. Provide yourself better skin care protection by utilizing clinically approved skin care products and following good skin care routine.
